Satisfaction

Being away from home can look different for everyone; for most it's freedom to be their truest self, for some it's to explore and discover their own identity outside the comfort zone that was curated for them at birth, and for others it's fulfilling a desire in their heart that was placed there for a reason.

Perhaps that desire God gave you has a purpose that no one else can tell you what it is, but it's for you to find out And the thing about desire is that it can change and pile up; possibly redirecting you to somewhere else or something else, leading up to the point that you no longer recognise who you are anymore and what you truly desire the first place.

But here's a reminder that there is always hope in Him no matter how far you have strayed away, I want you to always remember this verse in times when you feel lost and consumed by the desires you might have.

Matthew 6:33 ESV "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you". The reason why I love this verse so much is because it puts me back on track and reminds me why I am here in the first place.

It's so easy to get carried away by wanting so much in this world, and these desires can manipulate us into thinking that if we fulfill that desire; it would satisfy us. Us humans are insatiable creatures, meaning no matter how much we have in this life, we always managed to want more.

Take King Solomon for example; that man was extremely wealthy and had everything he could ever want; yet he wasn't satisfied, because true fulfillment can only be found in God alone.

I'm not saying that having desires is necessarily bad; desire creates a drive for us make an effort when we want to achieve a goal , but we need to be mindful of how we do it .

A very wise man that I recently met told me there are two paths in achieving a goal; both can be successful however one can make us and one can break us.

The first path is choosing your own strategy or what we know best as 'diskarte', at first I thought he meant that choosing this path means that the person is bound to fail, but no; it means that this path would lead to disregarding all the damage it will cause in achieving the goal. And the other is choosing the path that serves your purpose which is honoring Him with everything that you do each day.

Colossians 3:17 ESV "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." All of us are given a choice everyday and it's entirely up to you which path will you take with the desire that was given to you, I pray that all of us can be mindful; seek Him first and do all things in His Glory .
